BATTLESHIP and TRIVIAL PURSUIT Inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame

19 Nov, 2025

Iconic Hasbro games BATTLESHIP and TRIVIAL PURSUIT have been inducted in the National Toy Hall of Fame. For decades, these two timeless games have inspired families and fans to gather together to foster connection and engage in friendly competition. To date, both games have sold over 100 million copies each.

Originally started as a pencil-and-paper strategy game in the 1930s, Milton Bradley’s 1967 plastic edition of BATTLESHIP, complete with fold-up grids and miniature ships, quickly gained widespread popularity. Its cultural impact crested decades later with the release of the hit 2012 film “Battleship,” which was loosely inspired by the classic game.

Created in 1979, TRIVIAL PURSUIT pits teams against each other as they navigate a game board, answering trivia questions to collect colored wedges. Over the years it has spawned refreshed editions and specialty versions geared toward families, kids, baby boomers, and more.

BATTLESHIP and TRIVIAL PURSUIT join Hasbro classics MY LITTLE PONY and TRANSFORMERS (both inducted in 2024), NERF, MONOPOLY, PLAY-DOH, STAR WARS action figures, CANDY LAND, G.I. JOE, MR. POTATO HEAD, SCRABBLE, TONKA TRUCKS and the EASY-BAKE OVEN in the National Toy Hall of Fame at The Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York.

Congratulations to our Hasbro teams on this exciting achievement!
